For those of us who pay special attention to detail, some may call it obsessive, this one is for you!
I say that it is the small details that make the difference between nice and fabulous!
A wedding in the Spring, cliché as it may be, is the perfect time of year for an occasion as memorable as a wedding!
Especially eye catching this season would be the pastel colors shown with metallic accents. Not all that glitters is just gold! Popular is the soft pink, vintage mint, the palest of blue, turquoise or peach with shimmering gold, rose gold or mercury silver. The metallic touches can be added to everything from the jewelry worn with the brides or bridesmaid dresses, belts or sashes. Wear an antique headband or comb in your hair. The smallest touch of glitter added to the wedding invitations, flowers or place settings at the guest tables will enhance the color palette.
If the bride is indecisive as to the colors her girls will wear, she can satisfy the demure to boldest of colors by doing a multi-tonal or ombre palette. She can choose a powder blue for one of her girls, with tiffany blue, sky blue and turquoise to fit the most outgoing of the group. If she is the “think outside of the box” kind of girl she could go with a cashmere color and pastel yellow adding pecan and coral shades to complete the look, mixing and matching deluxe satin and chiffon fabrics for texture.
The bouquets don’t consist of just flowers any more. Whether their dresses are classic fabric or color choices, the stems of the flowers can be left long and green with a ribbon wrapped around the stems to coordinate or bring contrast in satin, lace or even rustic burlap. Heaven forbid we stop there! Use pearl top straight pins to cover the cut ends of the stems for a fabulous touch!
Bring spring indoors, instead of roses made out of buttercream and fondant, choose your favorite fresh flower to adorn the many tiers of your cake. The wedding cake will not only be remembered as delicious but will smell amazing as well! Continue the spring theme; use a long stem fresh flower to tie the napkins on each place setting.
Don’t forget the details of the heart. For those guests who are missing from your special day, keep them close to you on your wedding day with a small photo charm attached to your flower bouquet or have them walk down the aisle with you secured to your beautiful bridal heels or concealed close to your heart.
Spring in all its blooms and colors signifies new beginnings! Your wedding will be the beginning of your happily ever after!
